For everyone who frequently reads our blogs you may remember when I became the newest member of bbs; four months ago. It doesn’t seem five minutes ago since I was meeting the rest of the team and being shown to my desk, now I’m part of the bbs family just like everyone else. I have really enjoyed meeting our clients and welcoming them into our office. I have learnt so much in such a short space of time from everyone here at bbs such as meeting room management, working at events and overall good customer service skills. I am extremely looking forward to starting new projects in the New Year and expanding my knowledge further.

To end a hard working year we are showing our creativeness by having a Christmas breakfast whilst swapping presents, smiling and revealing who won our famous Come Lunch With Us which I can announce was Helen.  Anyway I must dash but I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and remember time really does fly when you’re having fun.

BBS mystery shop the Sport Facilities, Catering Facilities and the Conference Office at Leeds University as well as the Conference Office at Lancaster University.

Mystery shopping comes in several disguises -  face to face, email and over the telephone.

The purpose of mystery shopping is not to criticise staff, but to develop them and train them so that the University is represented in the best possible way by staff members and we have received great feedback from staff members that have been involved in the mystery shopping programmes.

It was the biggest B2B event in Stockport this year and BBS are proud to say we were a part of it…in more ways than one!

Some of the BBS team were working on behalf of Innov8 Conferences and were responsible for showing exhibitors to their stands, registering the visitors on their arrival and managing the seminars which were held throughout the day.

 BBS were also exhibitors, as we had our very own stand. We have worked at several exhibitions on behalf as clients and never as BBS, so this was our time to shine!

The room was filled with exhibitors and visitors and the atmosphere was energetic. It was great to see exhibitors and visitors interact with one another and we met lots of great people and some familiar faces too.

The conference is one of the most important dates in the diary for anybody involved in the pensions Industry, and especially this year with all the talk on auto-enrolment, the conference was bigger than ever. The event attracts around 1500 industry professionals and around 500 exhibitors.

We have built a strong relationship with NAPF over 8 years and always feel part of an extended team. They trust us to get the job done and do it to an extremely high standard.

This year’s conference and exhibition was held at the ACC Liverpool, and BBS provided staff for all 3 days. This included delegate and exhibitor registration which is often the first point of contact for attendees. As well as handing out delegate/exhibitor packs we are also expected to handle any queries as best we can. We also provide badge scanner staff and microphone handlers for the auditorium. As well as this, BBS provide room managers who are responsible for briefing the speakers and chairman and ensuring they are prepared for the sessions. Our BBS team leader, interviewed and recruited Liverpool University Events Management students, created a timetable for individual event personnel, and ensured the staffing ran smoothly throughout the 3 days.

NAPF is something we look forward to year on year. Lots of hard work and commitment has meant the NAPF team treat us as one of their own and use our event management personnel every year to represent them.

We have been working with Reed Exhibitions for the past 5 years, in particularly on the EIBTM exhibition which they organise. EIBTM is the leading global event for the meetings, incentives, events and business travel industry, held in Barcelona.

One aspect of the telemarketing campaign is to contact Hosted Buyers and encourage them to complete their appointment preferences and destination presentations.  These calls are to contacts all over the world.

The second aspect to the campaign is to contact UK conference and event buyers to encourage their registration for the EIBTM Hosted Buyer Programme.

Although we do a lot of varied telemarketing projects, this particular project is one of our favourites. If you walked into our office, you would hear anything from Guten Tag to Buon giorno!
